Watches are not a solitary hobby. Much of the enjoyment comes from sharing the passion with fellow enthusiasts. Like many collectors, our interests extend beyond watches alone, naturally including fine clothing and exceptional automobiles. When WatchWorks was invited to join an official photoshoot for WatchTime Magazine in collaboration with Rolls-Royce, the only hesitation we had was how quickly we could say yes.
The shoot took place over two days and featured two formidable automotive statements from the Rolls-Royce universe.
The first was the Rolls-Royce Ghost Black Badge, finished in a daring and beautifully executed Dark Emerald green exterior, paired with a mandarin orange leather interior. Beneath its tailored luxury presence sits a twin-turbo V12 producing 592 horsepower, making the Ghost Black Badge as much an athlete as it is a statement of refinement.
This balance made it a natural companion for several watches we brought along, including the Bulgari Octo Finissimo Chronograph and an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak in full yellow gold. To underline the sporty nature of the Black Badge, additional watches joined the scene, among them a white gold Rolex Daytona, a two-tone Patek Philippe Nautilus, and a modern Rolex Datejust 41mm.
To place the Ghost Black Badge in an environment that matched its character, we headed to the Formula 1 Circuit of Zandvoort. Outside the racing season, this is a familiar place for WatchWorks during spring and summer, as we closely follow the achievements of Mode 11 Racing, of which WatchWorks is the main and official sponsor.
Although the Ghost Black Badge was never designed for competition, its presence and performance felt entirely at home on the circuit. As it entered the grounds, attention shifted instantly. Even among Porsches and Lamborghinis, the Black Badge commanded the spotlight. At 5.55 meters long and weighing 2,630 kilograms, this Rolls-Royce is unlike anything else on the road. A true automotive colossus.
Of an entirely different caliber was the Rolls-Royce Phantom Series II. As the ultimate luxury sedan, it impresses through sheer presence and elegance. Drive or be driven becomes a genuine question, and this time we happily chose the latter.
Finished in Twilight Purple with a silver satin bonnet, the Phantom Series II drew attention effortlessly. Inside its serene white leather interior, there could hardly be a more fitting setting to experience a Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Annual Calendar Moonphase in 18k rose gold. Reclining in the rear seats, enjoying a gentle massage beneath the mesmerizing Starlight headliner, the act of flipping the Reverso to admire its complications felt entirely natural.
To capture the best light and surroundings, we ventured into the dunes that protect the Netherlands from the North Sea. Nick prepared his drone to capture cinematic footage of the Phantom moving through the landscape, while Reinout focused on still photography.
Samuel from Costume Limité ensured that our styling matched the setting, dressing us in refined pieces from Loro Piana, Zegna, and Brunello Cucinelli. This collaboration, made possible together with Martin Green, Rolls-Royce Netherlands, represented by Cito Motors BV, reflects the wider universe of WatchWorks.
More than anything, it represents a shared appreciation for craftsmanship, elegance, and the joy of La Dolce Vita. A passion we are proud to share with our clients, partners, and friends.
