At the heart of WatchWorks Haarlem is founder Farid Froon, a certified watchmaker whose passion for mechanics drives our collection. Founded in April 2016, WatchWorks was built on a foundation of rigorous technical education and high-end retail experience. Farid completed his formal watchmaking education under the guidance of watchmaker Machiel Kalf, who worked closely with WOSTEP and its director at that time, Maarten Pieters to develop a unique training program in the Netherlands. This program served as the official preparatory course for the highly regarded Swiss WOSTEP curriculum and, at the time, was the only program of its kind in the Netherlands.

Before establishing WatchWorks, Farid honed his eye for detail and quality working with prestigious names like Amsterdam Vintage Watches and Amsterdam Watch Company. This unique combination of technical skills and luxury retail experience serves as our Unique Selling Proposition: we do not just sell watches; we understand the mechanics, history, and authenticity of every timepiece and movement we offer.

The "buzzing duo" of Farid and Laura manages the heart of the company. While Farid oversees the collection, curation, watch restoration, and client meetings, Laura ensures the seamless operation of our back-office and accountancy. Together with Samuel and Teun, responsible for sourcing, purchasing and marketing, we strive for the very best for our clients.

Our commitment to personalized watch service was recognized when WatchWorks won the 2021 'Ondernemersprijs' (Entrepreneur's Prize) and the sector award for International Business from Rijnstreek Business.
