ROLEX 16750 GMT MK1
Here we have an early example of a first generation ‘Transitional’ 16750 GMT-Master. This so-called MK 1 version is pretty rare as many of the matte dial 16750’s had their dials replaced for glossy ones with white gold indexes during service. The overall condition of the GMT offered here is extremely good and has everything that you really want, and look for in a vintage GMT!
Let’s start with the matte grey dial, this is spotless! no scratches, no moist/water marks, no missing lume – nothing. The patinated Tritium on the hour-markers shows an amazing warm cream color with all hands to match, while the bright red GMT hand makes the entire face of the watch really pop! The faded inlay here is crazy, as you can see the color red is faded to a stunning light pink, almost a transparant pink as in certain angles the pink looks like its see-through – very cool! The 78360 Oyster bracelet with 580 end links has an F clasp code, dating the bracelet back to 1981. As most of you know, Rolex bracelets and cases can have a 2-3 year difference in production dates, so I guess it’s safe to say that we are still dealing with the original bracelet to this 16750 GMT. The bracelet shows very little stretch and looks very good with a clear Rolex crown on the folding clasp. The watch is fitted with an original 116 domed Rolex hesalite crystal which really makes all the difference here!
This rare and unique, all original GMT-Master is fully serviced according to the Rolex standard and will be sold with a 12 month warranty.
