Oversized Calatrava Pink Gold

We’re delighted to present to you this incredibly rare and one-of-a-kind, Jaeger-leCoultre Calatrava dress watch crafted from exquisite 18k pink gold. This is unquestionably one of the best oversized Jaeger Calatrava’s available for sale at the moment, and simply one of the best vintage Jaeger-leCoultre wristwatches ever, period. Attentive visitors and readers of our website may know we’ve sold this watch before – in 2020 to be precise, but below is another run-down of this watch’s history told to us by the intermediary (and friend of the family) who offered us this watch in the first place.

On his 21st birthday, a father gifted his son this beautiful and very handsome Jaeger-LeCoultre Calatrava style wrist watch. Despite the son’s happiness about this amazing gift, the young man was too terrified to wear the magnificent and priceless watch that his father had gifted him. He stored the watch in a cupboard for at least 30 years, only looking at it periodically, to look over the warranty and the JLC manual, while carefully wearing the watch indoors. Circa 30 years later that young boy is now a man and in his early fifties, and is gradually starting to wear his cherished oversized Jaeger-LeCoultre dress-watch, which reminds him of his father as he stares down at that beautiful and balanced dial, surrounded by warm 18k pink gold. He only wears the watch in and around the house once or twice a week, and he does it with tremendous caution, maintaining an already excellent and uncommon Jaeger-le Coultre, in near-new conditions – You see, his Jaeger Calatrava is still in the exact same condition as when it was purchased new in the early 1950’s; the watch is still worn on the original JLC leather strap, including the original and vintage18k JLC buckle. The watch can be stored in its original box and is also still accompanied by the original JLC hangtag and purchase warranty: all remain in wonderful conditions.

Fast forward again roughly 15 years, and the family of the now-deceased first owner decides to sell the watch, which ends up with us, courtesy of the before mentioned friend of the family. We debated if we should sell this incredibly exceptional, collectible and rare Jaeger-leCoultre watch with its heartfelt history. Why you ask? Because this is the type of timepiece you only come across once, and is the type of watch which truly captures the imagination of us vintage watch collectors and aficionados. However, we are here to offer you guys the best watches we can find, so once again we want to inspire another collector to add an amazing and very rare Jaeger-leCoultre to his collection!

Our watchmakers once again thoroughly examined the movement and found it to be in great working order; this Jaeger-leCoultre Calatrava will be sold with our 24 month warranty.
