Heuer Carrera Chronograph 3647
Don’t want to pay an arm and a leg for an Iconic and legendary 1960’s Chronograph? But you do want the quality of Singer made dials and manual Valjoux movements; Then the Heuer Carrera Chronograph is the watch you’re looking for! These 1960’s Carrera watches are amongst the most beautiful chronographs ever made, with their very clean and easy to read dial lay-out and overall classic design, they really belong to the top of the vintage chronograph league.
The silver dial is nice and clean and is showing no water damage or damage from watchmaker tools. The bright red Tachymeter scale on the outer edge of the dial is very crisp and is accompanied by warm, custard colored Tritium at the end of the indices and inside the hands, making the dial even that more attractive. The case is nice and strong and the screwed case-back shows a clear case-number engraving. We love the 1960’s font on these dials, with those wonderful serif numerals for the chronograph registers, the chronometer scale and of course that modest T SWISS printing just above the six o’clock marker. At some point the smooth pushers were replaced for slightly later, fluted pushers. This Carrera watch is of course worn on a racing strap partnered with a stainless steel Heuer pin-buckle.
Mr. Jack Heuer designed the Heuer Chronograph watches himself, and with a name like Carrera (derived from the legendary road race in Mexico, known as La Carrera Panamericana) it truly is a piece of automotive and horology history for your wrist! The watch is powered by a manual wound, Valjoux 92 movement which was fully serviced by our watchmakers. Note that we stayed far away from any polishing of the case! She will be sold with a 12 month warranty.
