We’re pleased to offer this forever cool Rolex GMT-Master ‘Swiss Only’, a model with a dial configuration produced for one year only. In 1999, Rolex fitted a small number of its sports models with what collectors now call the “Swiss Only” dial. (Not to be confused with the radium-era “Swiss” dials from the 1950s and ‘60s). The nickname refers to the clean “SWISS” printing at six o’clock. Unlike the standard “SWISS-T<25” marking seen throughout the 1990s, these dials carry no tritium designation. It’s a short-lived transitional detail that has become pretty collectible. For enthusiasts, these subtle anomalies are exactly the kind of traits that gain significance and perhaps value over time, making the ‘Swiss Only’ GMT-Master a smart choice.

This GMT-Master, reference 16700 remains in very good condition throughout. The case is nice and fat, with strong proportions and a sharp, well-preserved stainless steel bezel fitted with the well known Pepsi insert. Notably, this insert features the more clean looking non-serif font. This GMT-Master is offered complete with its original 1999 purchase warranty, inner and outer boxes labeled with the watch’s reference, and 2023 Rolex Service Center paperwork. Collectors will appreciate the completeness of the set, which enhances both provenance and long-term value. The watch is paired with its original 78360 Oyster bracelet, which remains in very good condition with minimal to no-stretch and a crisp Rolex clasp. The glossy black dial is absolutely spotless, providing a striking contrast to the red and blue Pepsi insert.
