Datejust 16234 Lava Grey

These vintage and neo-vintage Datejust watches never cease to amaze me! Take this 16234 from 1991 with grey face for example.. Holy crap what a gorgeous dial! This dial colour is best described as a matte, Lava grey colour with hints of anthracite and mouse grey – On the wrist this beauty just keeps surprising you with those ever changing tones. During photography the colour came out a bit lighter then in real life, due to the studio lighting, but please feel free to schedule in an appoinement so you can view this stunning Datejust with your own two eyes.

The matte grey dial is adorned with a white printed, closed minute track which shows perfectly rounded and vanilla patinated dots at the end of each five minute marker. The vanilla colour of that Tritium matches nicely with the the vanilla patinated Tritium inside the white gold hands – This creamy colour sets off wonderfully against the rest of the bright white printed text, and the grey colour on the dial. The 18k white gold Roman numerals are appliqué numerals and appear to be completely black from certain angels, until you move the watch around, at that point the shiny white gold comes back to live –  Another excellent example of Rolex’s superior art of dial making.

The case and bracelet remain in very good conditions, all lugs on the center-case are nice, fat and equally shaped. The 62510H Jubilee bracelet is fitted to the case with 555B end-links and is a bracelet with little stretch – This watch was taken excellent care of throughout the years! The Jubilee bracelets counts 18 links in total with two extra spare links that will be delivered with the watch of course. Needless to say, this Datejust 16234 ‘Lava Grey’ was fully serviced by our watchmakers and will be delivered with our 24 month warranty.
