Datejust 1601 ‘Petrol Dial’

Let me start by saying that the colour on the dial of this exquisite vintage Datejust is very hard to capture, especially with studio lighting. The colour as seen in the photo’s is mainly grey with a hint of blue, but once you see this beauty with your own two eyes you will witness blue, grey, anthracite and if you’re lucky even a hint of green can be seen. This dial truly is something else and it’s a One of a Kind vintage Datejust for sure!

The watch features an 18k white gold fluted bezel in excellent and sharp conditions. The hands and so-called ‘Fancy Marker’ indices are also manufactured from white gold and have the best faceted finish you could think of. Each marker is divided into quarters with each there own sharply cut facet/edge. This has been executed in such a way that each index and facet will reflect the light, combine this with that magnificent dial colour and the entire watch just radiates exclusivity. Whichever way you wear or turn the watch on the wrist, the dial is constantly different and the indices will catch the light and smile at you, it will remind you that you’re wearing a rare vintage Datejust watch. The entire case also remains in excellent conditions with strong, equal shaped lugs and the watch is fitted to a solid 62510 Jubilee bracelet from 1979.
