Datejust 1601 ‘Black Lacquer’

We sold many Datejust watches throughout the years, but here’s a 1601 we haven’t had the pleasure of selling before. This vintage Datejust with black indices is truly something else. I’ve said it earlier, but this is another great example of how extremely versatile these vintage Datejust watches really are. The pristine pie-pan dial inside this Datejust is in absolute new conditions! It truly is spotless and features a gorgeous soft Sun-ray finish with eggshell patinated Tritium at the end of the indices and inside the hands. The larger than usual, white gold hour-markers are filled or applied with a glossy, black lacquered finish and it was done in such a way that it doesn’t discolor, cracks or looses it’s shape. The deep black color is phenomenal and sets of wonderfully against the silvered color of the dial. The case on this Datejust 1601 ‘Black Lacquer’ is nice and thick with four even shaped lugs and with a clean, 18k white gold Fluted bezel to finish off the look. The watch is worn on a solid 62510H Jubilee bracelet with clean folding clasp, adorned with a clear and visible Rolex coronet.
