Cartier Pendulette Stingray Shagreen

May we present a very attractive and polished stainless steel, Art-Deco-Style, Cartier Pendulette Desk-Clock with alarm function. This beauty is finished with a gorgeous burgundy colored Stingray Shagreen (Shagreen is a type of rawhide ground down to produce a smooth, puzzle-like surface). This so-called Pendulette Desk-Clock was bought new back in February of 2008 through one of the Cartier Boutique’s in Italy, and is accompanied by its original box and papers – hardly used, it now presents an opportunity to own a discontinued piece from the Cartier ‘Art of Living’ line.

These Desk-Clocks with Alarm complication in this particular art-deco style and Stingray Shagreen finish, were made in very limited quantities and only for sale at selected Cartier boutiques, making them very hard to come by these days. Please notice the high mirror polish on the stainless steel of the body, as well on the handle, yet a beautiful brushed finish on the backside of the clock. The Stingray Shagreen is wonderfully ground, dyed and polished, giving off a perfect Burgundy tone, which is completely in line with Cartier’s designs from that era. The clock face is most reminiscent of a Santos style dial – Squared, with large Roman numerals and the Cartier name bright an bold right beneath the 12 o’clock position. The dial is also signed, ‘Swiss Made’ and Cartier’s ‘secret signature’ can be found in the V of the Roman number 7. This Cartier Desk-Clock clock features three hands, obviously two for the hours and minutes, but the thinnest hand (pointing between the 6 and 7 position in the photo’s above) is to set the hours for the alarm function. In short, a wonderful item from Cartier that you may use to decorate your bedroom, living room or office with.

This Cartier Pendulette Stingray Shagreen was fully serviced by the Cartier Service Center and will be sold with our two years of warranty.
