1803 Day-Date Diamonds

Happy to present to you this superb ‘1803 Day-Date Diamonds’ with an overall condition that would easily qualify as very good; the watch shows us a fat case with a maximum amount of gold concentrated on the center-case, and four very solid lugs. It’s obvious this Day-Date hasn’t seen much polishing throughout the last 48 years, and most likely was taken very good care of.

The entire watch, including the so-called President bracelet radiates a warmer glow of its yellow gold, all thanks to the way 18k gold was composed back in the day. The slightly larger amounts of copper used to manufacture 18k yellow gold back then, gives these vintage Day-Dates a wonderful, slightly darker glow which really adds to the watch its beauty and warm vintage appearance. However, with this Day-Date it seems extra warm somehow and keeps catching your eyes, we hope it’s visible in the photo’s cause it’s absolutely stunning. The original, silver sunburst factory diamond dial, is set with ten diamonds in total; eight round-cut diamonds and two baguette-cut diamonds (the latter are located at the six and nine o’clock position). Search the world wide web and you will find that the availability for a silver sunburst diamond pie-pan dial, specifically made for a yellow gold 1803 Day-Date, is quit a rare thing to acquire. Most 1803’s from the 1970’s were simply manufactured with plain golden dials. These type of pie-pan dials with bright, Rolex diamonds as seen in this vintage Day-Date, truly are the icing on the cake. The 18k gold President bracelet remains in a very good condition and counts 23 links, the day-disc is Spanish and the original date-disc shows us open 6’s and 9’s. As always, photo’s don’t do justice to these type of watches and you should really inspect such a timepiece with your own two eyes. Therefor we’re excited to have you around the office to view and enjoy this gorgeous 1803 Day-Date Diamonds, while enjoying a cup of our fresh brewed coffee of course.
