16750 “Transitional” GMT-Master
Here we have a beautiful 16750 “Transitional” GMT-Master, dating back to 1986. This is a later version of the transitional 16750 (manufactured until 1988), originally delivered with a glossy black dial and white gold surrounds on the indexes, the now aged Tritium on the hour markers and hands has patinated to a warm custard tone, providing a perfect contrast against the black dial that is now showing more of a matte finish, due the te aging of the lacquer – crazy enough, all these details ty the whole watch together to a neo-vintage GMT us vintage Rolex lovers adore.
The bezel insert on this 16750 is another standout feature. It is a rare fat font insert, most likely from an early MK1 matte dial 16750. This insert has naturally faded from deep black to a stunning grey tone, adding even more charm to the watch. On top of that, the watch also comes with a second Pepsi insert, giving you the choice to change the look depending on your mood. The watch is paired with its solid Oyster bracelet, reference 78360 with 580 end-links. The bracelet is in excellent condition, showing almost no stretch, and still wears tight and comfortable on the wrist. An extra spare link is also included, making it easy to size. The folding clasp features a clear Rolex crown, further confirming this GMT’s well-preserved condition and care over time from the previous owner/owners. Another detail we’d like to highlight is the case and its lugs, particularly their condition. A closer look reveals a strong, well-preserved case with minimal signs of wear. The lugs remain sharp and full, featuring that sleek polished facet we all love to see – simply wonderful.
This 16750 “Transitional” GMT-Master really gives you the best of both worlds. On the outside, it shows everything vintage Rolex lovers search for: a dial that has aged beautifully to a matte finish, warm patinated Tritium, and a rare fat font bezel insert that has faded to an elegant grey. On the inside, it houses the updated movement with a quick-set date function, a very welcome feature for everyday use. This 16750 has been fully serviced according the strict Rolex standards and comes with our two years of mechanical warranty.
