16700 SWISS ONLY GMT

This super cool 16700 ‘Swiss Only’ GMT is a watch that was manufactured for one year only – to be precise it was 1999 the ‘Swiss Only’ dials were fitted to certain Rolex watches (not to be confused with Swiss only Radium dials from the 1950’s and 60’s) The nickname ‘Swiss Only’ refers to the fact that directly below the six o’clock hour-marker, only the word SWISS can be seen printed in white. With all other Rolex dials from that same period (with the exception of a few other sports Rolex’s) the printing reads; SWISS-T<25. To the collector community and the true aficionado this small anomaly is very fascinating, and it’s small details like this that have proven to be very valuable throughout the years should you also be interested in buying your Rolex watch as a small investment.

Our Rolex GMT-Master remains in a very good condition, the case on this 16700 is nice and fat with a very well conditioned stainless steel bezel and beautiful faded Pepsi insert. This faded blue and pinkish insert also has the so-called, Fat Font, Serif numerals to it, which is a very desirable insert to have and one with a more vintage vibe to it. In our humble opinion, Serif inserts look just a tad better then the block-like, non serif ones, especially if you enjoy a more vintage feel to your Rolex watch. The watch is fitted to its original 78360 Oyster bracelet which remains in a very good condition with little stretch and a solid Rolex clasp. The glossy black dial is spotless and sets off really nice against the pinkish part of the faded insert.
