1603 ‘Polar Dial’ Datejust
We’re pleased to present you with another fantastic vintage Rolex Datejust; this time, we were able to obtain an excellent 1603 reference with something that is known amongst vintage Datejust models as the ‘Polar’ white pie-pan dial. This dazzling matte white color seems extremely clean and is accented even more by those beautifully aged yellow Tritium dots at the ends of all the hour-markers. At first glance, those hour-markers appear to be stick ones, but closer inspection reveals that each marker has a V cut straight down the middle, which reflects the light in a way that turns half of the index virtually dark, boosting legibility, which was a genius Rolex design move back in the sixties. The overall watch is in a very good condition, with all four lugs equally shaped and nice and crispy. The watch features a strong casing and a solid engine-turned bezel.
This vintage Datejust is paired with a 62510H Jubilee bracelet. This solid Jubilee remains in a good condition, and overall this simply is a pretty rare vintage Datejust with cool 1960’s design features; It is a watch that will absolutely not disappoint, especially now that summer is slowly moving away from us, but you still want to keep that wonderful, fresh summer feeling. If that’s the case, this white dialed 1603 ‘Polar Dial’ Datejust is perfect for you. But don’t get me wrong, this isn’t just some fashionable vintage Datejust, this truly is a specimen you won’t come across that often, so it’s a wonderful watch for the avid collector, or simply for someone who wants to own, and wear something a little more interesting and rare, when it comes to the vintage Rolex Datejust.
