I’m specifically referring to the one with the white dial with large deconstructed Roman numerals; That new dial was basically modelled after the vintage dial we see here. These early 1980’s dials exist in a variety of colors and feature the first of the deconstructed Roman numeral design. The Roman numerals on the vintage Rolex Datejust presented here, were machined from 18k white gold and show a nice and high profile, adding a lot of depth to the dial. These stylish Roman numbers were meticulously set on an even more noteworthy material, Porcelain.

Porcelain dials are characterized by their smooth, white glossy surface and frequently feature various styles of Arabic numerals. Porcelain dials were typically used in Rolex watches from the “Oyster” and “Prince” lines, and they were known for their durability and resistance to fading. The slightly raised, black printed text (clearly visible when magnified through a loupe) has a wonderful high gloss finish to it thanks to the way these dials were processed in production. The combination of the above mentioned properties really make a porcelain dial for what they are, and they truly breath high quality with an extensive high-end finish on the entire dial, and the entire watch for that matter. The case on this 16000 Datejust ‘Porcelain’ is nice and sharp with a so-called Smooth bezel which remains in more than fair conditions. Another great thing is that this watch is worn on its original 62510H Jubilee bracelet with 555 end-links – this super comfortable bracelet also remains is solid conditions with a sharp and clean Oyster clasp with a well visible (not over-polished) Rolex coronet.

All in all, a wonderful and fairly rare vintage Rolex from the early eighties where one get’s to enjoy the best of both worlds; a vintage Rolex with plexi-glass crystal, yet featuring the back-then updated and new, 3035 movement, with its so-called, quick-set to rapidly set the date function. As you are used to by now, the watch and its entire 3035 movement have been fully serviced according to the Rolex factory specs and the watch will be sold with our extensive two year warranty.

reference: 16000
case number: 751XXXX
year of production: 1982
case diameter: 36mm
movement: self-winding, Rolex caliber 3035
box and papers: no

Sold
