WatchWorks Haarlem’s Pursuit Of ‘La Dolce Vita’ With Friends
Watches are not a solitary hobby, as part of the enjoyment comes from sharing the passion with fellow enthusiasts. Like many of them, our passion also runs broader than this, including fine clothing and exotic automobiles. So when asked to join an official photoshoot for WatchTime Magazine in collaboration with Rolls-Royce, the only time we needed to think about it, was to say yes!
The ‘shooting’ lasted two days and included two formidable automotive beasts. First was the Rolls-Royce Ghost Black Badge, in a daring but stunning color combination of Dark Emerald green on the outside with mandarin orange leather on the inside. While a distinct luxury car, its twin-turbo V12 puts out 592 horsepower, making it an athlete underneath its tailor-made suit; A perfect match for some of the watches we brought, including the Bulgari Octo Finissimo Chronograph and a beautiful Audemars Piguet Royal Oak in full yellow gold. To keep in line with the sporty nature of the Black Badge, some other watches were also present of course; watches like the white gold Rolex Daytona, a two-tone Patek Philippe Nautilus and a more modern Rolex Datejust in 41mm.
To put the Rolls-Royce Ghost Black Badge in its natural habitat, we drove to the F1 Circuit of Zandvoort. While ahead of the racing season, this is the place where we spend quite some time during Spring and Summer, enjoying the achievements of Mode 11 Racing, of which WatchWorks Haarlem is the main and official sponsor. While the Ghost Black Badge was never intended to race, its need for speed and daring color combination perfectly fitted the scene. All eyes were on the Black Badge as it entered the F1 circuit grounds, and everyone that noticed the car momentarily forgot about the Porsches and Lamborghinis that were also present and racing on the circuit; that’s the tremendous effect a Black Badge Rolls Royce has on fellow car enthusiasts.. This 5.55 meters long and 2630 kilogram weighing automobile is a like nothing else out there, she’s a colossal beast!
Of an entirely different caliber was the Rolls-Royce Phantom Series II. As the ultimate luxury sedan, it imposes by its size and style. Drive or be driven then becomes a very valid question, and we choose the latter. While the Phantom II has no trouble drawing attention, it’s Twilight Purple exterior color with a silver satin bonnet made it even more of an eye-catcher. We can’t think of a more appropriate surrounding to enjoy a Jaeger-leCoultre Reverso Annual Calendar Moonphase in 18k rose gold, than in the luxurious white leather interior of this stunning Rolls Royce automobile; Enjoying a relaxing massage by the seats in the back of the car, while enjoying the spellbinding, Starlight headliner, while flipping the Reverso watch to enjoy its wonderful complications. To catch the best light and the most spectacular surroundings, we ventured with the Phantom into the dunes that protect The Netherlands from the North Sea. Nick Urbanus from ALLROUNDNESS geared up his drone to make spectacular footage of the Rolls exploring the dune landscape, with Reinout Nieuwenhuizen Segaar taking some fantastic photos. Samuel, the style guru from Costume Limité, was also present, ensuring that we dressed at our best in the refined creations of Loro Piana, Ermenegildo Zegna and Brunello Cucinelli. That is the universe of WatchWorks Haarlem, but most of all, that is the passion for ‘La Dolce Vita’ that we love to share and experience with our clients, partners and friends.
