1675 GMT Gilt dial PCG
We’re excited to offer you guys this exquisite Rolex GMT-Master with reference 1675 from 1963. This early GMT is fitted with an excellent glossy, mirror Gilt dial which is absolutely pristine. The warm patina of the early Tritium indices and hands match wonderfully with the golden, gilt technique dial manufacturing, and the watch remains in a very good condition with a relatively fat and original case, a gorgeous faded and Fat Font insert and is worn on a Folded, Riveted Oyster bracelet from the 1960’s (I ’67)
The shine and warmth of a Rolex Gilt dial is truly something else – as with most watches, it needs to be seen with ones own two eyes to fully grasp the beauty of these rare dials and timepieces. This Gilt dial is a watch with a so-called PCG (Pointed Crown Guards) case. As mentioned, this case is still in a nice condition, and the same applies to the pointy shaped and sharply tapered, crown guards. This early crown guard design was subsequently replaced with the squarer ones, allowing for better handling of the crown – This rare case displays a “I.63” engraving inside the case-back, matching with the 87XXXX serial number clearly visible between the lugs at 12 o’clock. To top off this watch’s very handsome appearance, the stainless steel rotatable bezel is fitted with an original and wonderfully faded, fat font insert which shows grey and raspberry-red tones. This truly is a gorgeous GMT in one hell of a condition! You won’t find another one like this anytime soon..
